A group of Palestinian terrorists entered Israel from the Gaza Strip early Saturday, firing at the Israeli military unit responsible for coordinating with the Gaza Strip, known as the Coordination 
and Liaision Administration (CLA). Shots were fired and grenades were thrown and then the terrorists moved on. Later soldiers from the Golani Brigade's 12th Battalion engaged the terrorists and shot two dead. AP reported that according to a joint statement released by Palestinian terrorist groups following the attack, three gunmen participated in the operation, two gunmen were killed, and the whereabouts of the third was unknown. According to the IDF, under the cover of the early morning fog the terrorists scaled the security wall with ropes. A spokesman for the Popular Resistance Committees Gaza militant group said to reuters that one of its gunmen and another belonging to the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine were killed in a "martyrdom operation against the Zionist entity." The spokesman said that the operation was intended to enter the Israeli bodrer town of Netiv Ha'asara.
